I am devoted, dedicated, a sacrifice to the Lord; if only He would bless me with His Glance of Grace, even for an instant! ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My heart is dyed in love for my own Beloved.

I would give my whole self, piece by piece, for one glance of grace. One loving look, even for an instant, and I am filled with joy.

A heart turned fully toward the One asks only for a single loving glance.
The deeper layer

A heart dyed in love asks only for one glance of grace.

This is the rahaau — the pause, the still center of the whole song. Man rataa means the mind is dyed, colored through, in love. The offering ghol ghumaa-ee is complete devotion, asking only for a nadar — a glance of grace — even hik bhoree, for a single instant. Grace here is received, not earned; the heart simply makes itself open and available.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like to give your whole attention to one thing you love?
