The Beloved Never Leaves Those Soaked in Truth

O Lord, You are pleased with those who are like Yourself; there are many more like me.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਹੁ ਨ ਵੀਛੁੜੈ ਤਿਨ ਸਚੈ ਰਤੜੀਆਹ ॥੮॥੧॥੯॥

O Nanak, the Husband does not separate from those who are imbued with Truth. ||8||1||9||

In plain words

You love the ones who grow to look like You — kind, true, awake. And there are so many like me, still hoping to become that.

Nanak says, the Beloved never drifts away from a heart soaked in Truth. That closeness, once found, does not break.

A heart soaked in Truth grows to resemble the One — and that closeness never breaks.
The deeper layer

The Beloved never leaves a heart dyed in Truth.

Ta-o bhaavan ta-o jayhee-aa — those who become like You are the ones You delight in. Moo jayhee-aa kitee-aah — and there are so many like me, still on the way. Then Nanak gives the closing promise: the naahu (Beloved) never separates from those sachai rat-rhee-aah, dyed in Truth. Restless wandering ends in closeness that lasts.

A Question to Sit With

What is one true quality you would like to grow so much that it colors everything you do?
