In plain words

I do not go around calling myself good, and I do not look at anyone else and call them bad.

Nanak says, when the loud me-first voice grows quiet inside, a person starts to shine with the same light as the True One.

Stop ranking yourself and others, and the light of the One begins to show through.
The deeper layer

Claim no goodness for yourself, and see no one as bad.

The closing signature holds one of Guru Nanak's most beautiful lines of humility: naa ham changay aakhee-aah buraa na disai ko-ay — I claim no goodness, and I see no one as bad. When ha-umai (the ego, the sense of a separate, competing self) is quieted, the person sachay jayhrhaa so-ay becomes like the True One. Humility and non-judgment are two faces of the same clarity.

A Question to Sit With

What changes when you stop deciding who is better and who is worse?
