gurmukh hovai so tat paa-ay.
One who becomes Gurmukh, obtains the essence of reality;
aapnaa aap vichahu gavaa-ay.
he eradictes his self-conceit from within.

Without the True Guru, all are entangled in worldly affairs; consider this in your mind, and see. ||7||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Turn toward the Guru, and you touch what matters most; the heavy load of me, me, me slips off your shoulders.
Look honestly, and you will see how tangled life gets when we forget — and how it loosens when we remember.
Setting down the load of me loosens the tangles of a busy life.
The Gurmukh — the one turned toward the Guru — tat paa-ay, grasps the essence, and aapnaa aap vichahu gavaa-ay, sheds the heavy load of self-conceit. Without that turning, sabh dhandh kamaavai, everything becomes a tangle of chores. Look honestly: vaykhhu man veechaaree, consider this and see for yourself.
