Remember the Home You Live Inside

ਜਿਹ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਰਹਨਾ ਬਸਨਾ ਸੋ ਘਰੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਇਓ ॥੩॥
jih ghar meh tuDh rahnaa basnaa so ghar cheet na aa-i-o. ||3||
That home within which you live - you have not kept that home in your thoughts. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

There is a true home you live inside all the time — the presence of the One, closer than your own breath.

It is easy to forget it is there. Turning back to remember it is like coming home.

You already live inside a true home; remembering it is coming home.
The deeper layer

The home we forget is the one we live in.

Jih ghar meh tudh rahnaa basnaa — the home you live and stay in. So ghar cheet na aa-i-o — that home never comes to your mind. This home is the One's presence, closer than your own breath.

We forget the closest thing of all. Think of the air around you. You hardly notice it, yet you live in it every second. Remembering the One is not a long trip. It is noticing where you already are.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you feel most at home inside yourself, even when things around you are busy?
