The Fire That Warms Whoever Comes Near

subhaa-ay abhaa-ay jo nikat aavai seet taa kaa jaa-ay.
Good or bad, whoever comes close to the fire - his cold is taken away.
It knows nothing of its own or others'; it is constant in the same quality. ||7||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Good or not-so-good, whoever comes close to the fire, their cold is taken away.

The fire knows nothing of mine and yours; it stays warm the same for all.

Draw near to warmth, and the cold simply leaves.
The deeper layer

The last of the natural images. Fire warms by nature, not by choosing. Whoever draws near is warmed, a picture of a heart whose warmth is steady and free.

A Question to Sit With

What warms you when you feel cold inside?
