Grace Written Into the Day

ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗਨਾ ॥੭॥
ih biDh tiseh paraapatay jaa kai mastak bhaagnaa. ||7||
He alone is blessed with this way of life, upon whose forehead such destiny is recorded. ||7||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

This gentle way of living blossoms in the one whose day was written for it.

When grace is woven into your path, this life unfolds on its own.

When grace is woven in, the good life unfolds naturally.
The deeper layer

This way of living comes to the one whose life was marked with grace.

Ih bidh means this way of life: remembering, letting go, asking, singing and holding close. Jaa kai mastak bhaagnaa: it comes to the one with good fortune written on the forehead.

The forehead is an old picture for what is written into a life. It is not luck you earn, like points in a game. It is a gift already there, slowly becoming easy to see. Think of a seed in a garden. The flower was inside it from the start. With sun and time, the flower shows.

A Question to Sit With

What good thing has unfolded in your life almost on its own?
