Verse 2 of 6

The Wealth Already Kept Inside Your Heart

ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਵਖਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥
so Dhan vakhar naam ridai hamaarai.
That commodity, the wealth of the Naam, is within my heart.
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਦੇਹਿ ਤਿਸੈ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jis too deh tisai nistaarai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Whoever You bless with it, is emancipated. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

That wealth, the treasure of the Naam, is inside my heart.

Whoever You give it to is carried across and set free.

Freedom comes from noticing the treasure already inside you.
The deeper layer

The treasure sits ridai, in the heart. Nistaarai (freedom) comes as grace opens us to what is already there. This is Gurprasad, grace: not a prize earned, but a noticing of what was always present.

A Question to Sit With

What treasure inside you would you like to notice more often?
