Sikhism·Raag Maaroo·Shabad 83
Verse 11 of 16

The Giver Who Is No One's Enemy

ਆਪੇ ਕਾਜੀ ਆਪੇ ਮੁਲਾ ॥
aapay kaajee aapay mulaa.
He Himself is the Qazi; He Himself is the Mullah.
ਆਪਿ ਅਭੁਲੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਭੁਲਾ ॥
aap abhul na kabhoo bhulaa.
He Himself is infallible; He never makes mistakes.
ਆਪੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਇਆਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਿਸੈ ਕੋ ਬੈਰਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥
aapay mihar da-i-aapat daataa naa kisai ko bairaa-ee hay. ||11||
He Himself is the Giver of Grace, compassion and honor; He is no one's enemy. ||11||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You are the judge and the teacher in every house of worship.

You never make a single mistake.

You give kindness, mercy, and honor freely, and You hold not one drop of enmity toward anyone, for You are no one's enemy.

The One is present in every house of worship and is nobody's enemy.
The deeper layer

The One is the Qazi and the Mullah, present in the Muslim tradition as fully as in any other. And the One is enemy to none (naa kisai ko bairaa-ee), one of Gurbani's clearest promises.

A Question to Sit With

What would the world be like if we treated no one as an enemy?
