Sikhism·Raag Maaroo·Shabad 83
Verse 16 of 16

You Remain Through Every Age; See You Within

jug jug saachaa hai bhee hosee.
In each and every age, the True Lord is, and shall always be.
ka-un na moo-aa ka-un na marsee.
Who has not died? Who shall not die?
naanak neech kahai baynantee dar daykhhu liv laa-ee hay. ||16||2||
Nanak the lowly offers this prayer; see Him within your own self, and lovingly focus on the Lord. ||16||2||

In plain words

Age after age, You are here, and You always will be.

Every living thing has its season and then goes home again; that is simply the way of things, and it is nothing to dread.

Nanak says, humbly, as a prayer: look inside your own self, with your heart tuned in love. There You are, and there love can rest.

Everything has its season, and the One who never ends is found within.
The deeper layer

Who has not died, and who will not die? Every living thing has its season and goes home. The One endures through every age and is found within, a place of rest with nothing to dread.

A Question to Sit With

What is a season in nature that reminds you things gently come and go?
