Ganga Saagar where the Ganges empties into the ocean, Trivaynee where the three rivers come together, and the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, are all merged in the Lord's Being. ||9||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

All the holy rivers people travel far to reach, all the famous sacred towns and shrines, every one of them lives inside You.

You are where every journey is headed.

So the journey that matters most is the one that reaches You in my own heart.

Every sacred place people travel to points back toward the heart.
The deeper layer

A long list of Hindu pilgrimage sites (the Ganges, Kedarnath, Benares, and more) is treated with full respect and then gathered up: all of them are held within the One. Guru Nanak honors the places while pointing to the inner destination.

A Question to Sit With

Is there a place that feels special or holy to you? What makes it feel that way?
