ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ਜਗਤੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥
aap upaa-i-aa jagat sabaa-i-aa.
He Himself created the whole world.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
jin siri-aa tin DhanDhai laa-i-aa.
The One who made it, assigns the tasks to it.
ਸਚੈ ਊਪਰਿ ਅਵਰ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੮॥
sachai oopar avar na deesai saachay keemat paa-ee hay. ||8||
I cannot see any other above the True Lord. The True Lord does the appraisal. ||8||

You made this whole world.
The One who shaped it also hands each of us our own tasks to do.
There is nothing and no one above You; You alone see the true worth of everything.
The One who made the world also trusts me with work that is mine.
