The soul-bride finds no home in her in-laws' home, the world hereafter; she suffers in agony in this world of her parents' home. ||12||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Without keeping the One in mind, a person can feel like a wanderer, never quite settling anywhere.
Restless here, restless there, never fully at home.
But the soul that carries the Name is at home in both worlds — here now, and wherever it goes next. That is a peace worth choosing.
Carry the Name, and you are at home wherever you are.
Pay-ee-arhai is the soul-bride's parents' home, this world; saahurrhai is her in-laws' home, the world beyond. Without the Naam she is restless in both. With the Naam, the soul is at home everywhere.
