Finding Home Inside Your Own Heart

ik aavahi jaaveh ghar vaas na paavahi.
Some come and go, and do not find a home in their own heart.
kirat kay baaDhay paap kamaaveh.
Bound by their past actions, they commit sins.
anDhulay sojhee boojh na kaa-ee lobh buraa ahaNkaaraa hay. ||4||
The blind ones have no understanding, no wisdom; they are trapped and ruined by greed and egotism. ||4||

In plain words

Some drift through life, never settling into the quiet home that waits inside their own heart.

Old habits pull them along, and they stumble into the same missteps.

When greed and ego crowd the mind, wisdom gets hidden — but clear it a little, and the home inside is right there, waiting.

The home you are looking for is waiting quietly inside your own heart.
The deeper layer

Ghar vaas na paavahi — some never settle into the home inside their own heart. Pulled along by kirat, old actions, and crowded by lobh, greed, and ahankaar, ego, they miss it. Greed and ego are like weeds; clear them a little, and the home is right there.

A Question to Sit With

What clutters your mind, and what helps you clear a little space inside?
