Sweet Family Love, and Something Deeper Still

The love of one's children and spouse is so sweet in this world.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਪਾਸਾਰਾ ॥

The expansive expanse of the Universe is attachment to Maya.

The True Guru snaps the noose of Death, for that Gurmukh who contemplates the essence of reality. ||9||

In plain words

The love of children and family is one of the sweetest things in this world — a gift.

The whole wide, beautiful world can also tug at us and pull our attention outward.

When the heart turns to the Guru and reflects on what matters most, the True Guru breaks the grip of the fear that shadows us, and a deep freedom opens.

Family love is sweet; the Guru loosens even our deepest fears.
The deeper layer

Putar kaltar jag hayt pi-aaraa — love of children and spouse is dear in this world, and it is honoured. The world's wide spread is also moh, a pull outward. The True Guru breaks the snare of fear for the one who reflects on tat, the essence.

A Question to Sit With

How can you love your family deeply and still keep your heart steady and free?
