The hard and heavy doors of the Tenth Gate are closed and locked. Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they are thrown open. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
This inner city is busy and full, like a market with balconies and shops, and the One takes care of everything in it.
The door to the highest room is heavy and shut tight. You cannot pull it open by force.
But the Guru's word is like a key. When you listen closely, the door swings open on its own.
The deepest doors open to listening, not to force.
The 'bajar kapaat' are the diamond-hard doors of the Tenth Gate. They open not to effort or force but to the Shabad, the Word of the Guru, received through deep listening.
A Question to Sit With
What is something you understood only once you stopped struggling and listened?
