ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰਾ ॥
gi-aan Dhi-aan sach gahir gambheeraa.
Spiritual wisdom and meditation on the True Lord are deep and profound.
ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਚੀਰਾ ॥
ko-ay na jaanai tayraa cheeraa.
No one knows Your expanse.
ਜੇਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇਤੀ ਤੁਧੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਕਰਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੋ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥
jaytee hai taytee tuDh jaachai karam milai so paa-idaa. ||13||
All that are, beg from You; You are attained only by Your Grace. ||13||

To know the One and to rest your mind on the One is to touch something deep and vast.
No one can measure how far the One stretches.
Everything that lives asks the One for what it needs, and the One is found through grace, a gift freely given.
Everything that lives is quietly asking; grace is the answer freely given.
'Karam milai so paaidaa': the One is attained by grace. Grace here is not earned by ritual or effort; it is the freely given openness in which the One is found.
