ਨਉ ਘਰ ਥਾਪੇ ਥਾਪਣਹਾਰੈ ॥
na-o ghar thaapay thaapanhaarai.
The Creator established the nine gates.
ਦਸਵੈ ਵਾਸਾ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰੈ ॥
dasvai vaasaa alakh apaarai.
In the Tenth Gate, is the dwelling of the infinite, unseen Lord.
ਸਾਇਰ ਸਪਤ ਭਰੇ ਜਲਿ ਨਿਰਮਲਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੨॥
saa-ir sapat bharay jal nirmal gurmukh mail na laa-idaa. ||2||
The seven seas are overflowing with the Ambrosial Water; the Gurmukhs are not stained with filth. ||2||

The One set nine doorways into your body.
And in the tenth, hidden doorway, the endless unseen One makes its home.
Inside you are seven seas brimming with clear, clean water; turned toward the Guru, you stay unstained by the world's grime.
There is clear water inside you the world cannot dirty.
The nine gates are the body's openings; the tenth is the inner doorway of awareness. The 'seven seas' of clear water inside picture the pure inner life of the Gurmukh, the one who faces the Guru and stays unstained.
