Those gripped by falsehood and greed do not dwell in the celestial home; engrossed in greed and sin, they come to regret and repent. ||15||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
In the strong fortress of your body sits a king, your true self, with good helpers and a fine gateway.
Lies and greed have no place in that bright inner home.
When we let greed take over, we only end up wishing we had chosen better; kindness and truth are what belong there.
Greed does not belong in the home of your true self.
The body is a fortress with the true self as its king. Greed and falsehood do not belong in this home; when we let them in, the fruit is simple regret. Keep the inner house clean, and let greed go.
A Question to Sit With
What is one thing you would want to keep out of your inner home?
