Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I praise the Guru forever, the Giver of peace; the Guru is the Lord, Narayan, the One Itself.

By the Guru's grace, I have reached the highest state; great, great is the glory.

Whoever sings the praises of the True One, night and day, melts into the True One.

Praising what gives you peace draws you closer to it.
The deeper layer

Praising the Guru, the Giver of peace, brings you to the highest state and into the True One.

Gur saalaahee sadaa sukh-daataa: I praise the Guru forever, the Giver of peace, who is prabh naaraa-in, the Lord Narayan Itself. By the Guru's grace one reaches the param pad, the supreme state, and singing the One's praises, merges into Truth (sach samaavai).
