In plain words

I pray to my dear Guru to bring me to the One, my Beloved.

I hear the thunder in the clouds, and my mind goes cool and calm. Coloured deep with love for my Dear One, I sing the One's praises.

The sound of the coming rain can cool and calm a longing heart.
The deeper layer

When you long for the One you love, even the thunder of the rain clouds can calm you.

Kara-o bina-o gur apnay pareetam: I pray to my dear Guru to bring me to har var, the Beloved. Then the monsoon arrives. Sun ghan ghor: hearing the thunder of the clouds, seetal man moraa, my mind is cooled. Moraa means "my", and it also sounds like mor, the peacock, who dances when the monsoon comes. Laal ratee: coloured deep red with love, the heart sings.

Think of a hot, heavy afternoon, and then the first rumble of thunder. Everyone looks up, the air goes cool, and something in you relaxes.

A Question to Sit With

Is there a sound in nature that instantly makes you feel peaceful?
