The drop of Ambrosial Nectar pleases my heart; the Guru has fascinated my mind, which is drenched in the sublime essence of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

Rain down, clouds, pour down! My mind is soaked with love.

The drop of sweet nectar delights my heart. The Guru has won my mind, and it is soaked in the sweetness of the One.

Grace falls like rain, and a thirsty heart drinks it in and turns green.
The deeper layer

Grace falls like rain, and a heart that drinks it in is soaked through with sweetness.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Baras ghanaa: pour down, O cloud! Mayraa man bheenaa: my mind is drenched. Amrit boond, the drop of nectar, delights the heart. Gur mohee: the Guru has won the mind, and it melts into har ras, the sweetness of the One.

In Malaar, rain is grace. Think of dry, cracked ground after the first monsoon rain. Within days it turns green.

A Question to Sit With

When have you felt refreshed the way dry ground feels after rain?
