She takes the Shelter of the Perfect Guru. O Nanak, as Gurmukh, chant the Naam; you shall be accepted as the true soul-bride of the Lord. ||4||2||

In plain words

Her mind is steady and still. She no longer comes and goes, born again and again. She has held on to the shelter of the perfect Guru.

Nanak says: turn to the Guru and repeat the Naam of the One, and you will be welcomed as the One's happy, true bride.

A mind that has found its home stops wandering.
The deeper layer

A mind that holds on to the Guru grows steady and stops coming and going.

Aavan jaan nahee: no more coming and going, the round of being born again and again. Man nihchal: the mind is steady, unmoving. Pooray gur kee ot gahee: she has taken hold of the shelter of the perfect Guru.

Nanak closes: raam naam jap gurmukh, turn to the Guru and repeat the Naam, and you are dhan sohaagan sach sahee, the blessed bride the One welcomes as true. Think of a kite that finally has someone holding its string. It stops spinning and rides the wind.

A Question to Sit With

What helps your mind stop racing and feel steady?
