The Creator is beyond reach and without end.
Chant the Guru's Word, and earn the true profit.
The One needs nothing from anyone, and is always present, right here, right now.
Nanak says: the one turned toward the Guru merges into the Naam.
The One is far beyond us, and right here too.
Aapay kartaa agam athaahaa means the Creator is out of reach and endless, like an ocean with no bottom. Gur sabdee japee-ai sach laahaa: remember the Guru's Word, and you earn the true profit. Laahaa means profit, the gain you get to keep.
Haajar hajoor means present right here, right now. Vayparvaahaa means free, needing nothing from anyone. So the One is bigger than the sky, yet closer than your own breath. Naanak gurmukh naam samaahaa: the one who faces the Guru melts into the Naam, like sugar into warm milk.
