In plain words

O One, bring me to meet the holy Guru, who keeps You in the heart night and day.

Seeing the Guru, the Guru's Sikh blossoms with joy, like a small child seeing its mother.

Being near what you love can light you up like a child spotting its mother.
The deeper layer

Being near people who love the One can light us up, like a small child who spots their mother.

Har har aan milaavhu gur saaDhoo: please let me meet the holy Guru, jis ahinis har ur Dhaaree, who keeps the One in the heart day and night.

Then comes the picture. Gur deethai gur kaa sikh bigsai: seeing the Guru, the Sikh, the learner, blossoms with joy. Ji-o baarik daykh mehtaaree: like a child seeing its mother.

Think of a little kid at school pickup. The moment they spot their mom at the gate, their whole face lights up. They feel safe, happy and at home, all at once. Gurbani uses this tender picture for belonging and for the joy of being near the Beloved.

A Question to Sit With

Who or what makes you light up the instant you see them?
