All hunger and thirst are satisfied, for those who partake of the sublime essence of the Lord, through the Guru's Teachings. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O wise one, say the Naam of the One, day and night.

All hunger and thirst are gone for those who, through the Guru's teaching, taste the sweetness of the One.

Tasting the Naam settles the deepest thirst and hunger.
The deeper layer

Say the Naam day and night, and the taste of the One settles every hunger and thirst.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Gi-aanee har bolhu din raat: O wise one, say the Naam of the One, day and night. A gi-aanee is someone who knows, someone wise.

Tinh kee trisnaa bhookh sabh utree: all their trisnaa, thirst, and hunger are gone, jo gurmat raam ras khaaNt, for those who taste the sweetness of the One through the Guru's teaching. Malaar is the raag of the rains, and here thirst is quenched. Think of a long drink of cold water after a hot afternoon of play.

A Question to Sit With

What is a hunger inside you that food or things do not seem to fill?
