Those who meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord in their hearts - their lives become totally fruitful.

o-ay aap taray sarisat sabh taaree sabh kul bhee paar pa-i-aa. ||3||
They themselves swim across, and carry the world across with them. Their ancestors and family cross over as well. ||3||

In plain words

Those who meditate on the Naam in their hearts, night and day — their whole life bears fruit.

They cross over themselves, and they carry the whole world across. Their family, all of it, crosses over too.

A life turned toward the One bears fruit that lifts everyone around it.
The deeper layer

Holding the Naam in the heart makes a whole life fruitful, and that goodness carries others across too.

Jo an-din hirdai naam dhi-aavahi: those who keep the Naam in the heart night and day. Sabh janam tinaa kaa safal bha-i-aa: their whole life becomes safal, fruitful, like a tree heavy with fruit.

O-ay aap taray sarisat sabh taaree: they cross over and carry the whole world with them. Sabh kul bhee paar pa-i-aa: their kul, their family line, crosses too. Think of one person in a family who starts saying thank you at dinner, and soon everyone does.

A Question to Sit With

How does one person's goodness end up helping the people around them?
