In plain words

Wanting other people's wives, wanting other people's money, greed, ego, and wrong, poisonous habits;

mean feelings, putting other people down, wanting that runs out of control, and anger: give them all up.

Some things are worth setting down so your heart can heal.
The deeper layer

Some habits poison the heart, and you can set each one down.

Par daaraa par Dhan par lobhaa: wanting what belongs to someone else, their wife, their money, their things. Ha-umai: ego, the feeling of being a separate self. Nind paraa-ee: speaking badly of others. Kaam kroDh: wanting that runs out of control, and anger. Taj: give it up, set it down.

Think of a backpack loaded with rocks. Take them out one at a time, and walking gets easier with each one.

If someone is being unkind to you or hurting you, that is never something you have to accept. Telling a grown-up you trust is always the right thing to do.

A Question to Sit With

What is one thing you could set down that would make you feel lighter?
