Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

In the Guru's shelter are all the treasures.

There, I am given honor in the True Court.

Doubt, fear, pain and hurt all go away when I sing the One's goodness, always, in the Sangat.

The treasure is in the shelter you already have.
The deeper layer

Every treasure is in the Guru's shelter, and in the Sangat your doubts and fears lift away.

Gur sarnaa-ee sagal nidhaan: in the Guru's shelter are all treasures. Saachee dargahi paa-ee-ai maan: honor is found in the True Court. Bharam bha-o dookh darad sabh jaa-ay: doubt, fear, pain and hurt all leave. That happens in the saadhsang, the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One. Singing together, the heart is watered by shared remembrance and is no longer alone with its worries.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you feel most safe and least alone?
