Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Mountains, trees, deserts, oceans and whole worlds are full of my dear Love's beauty, and it spreads into each and every heart.
In the Sangat, I have tasted the sweetness of the One who is everywhere. Nanak says: lovely is the trust of the one who feels this.
The Beloved fills the whole world and lives in every heart, and in the Sangat you taste that love.
Gir tar thal jal bhavan bharpur means mountains, trees, deserts, oceans and worlds are all filled. Ghat ghat laalan chhaavnee neekee: the dear Beloved spreads into each and every heart. Ghat means heart, and saying it twice means every single one. The One is nearer than we think, living inside everything. That is the plain meaning of Ik Onkar, the One Creator.
Saadhsang raam-ee-aa ras paa-i-o: in the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One — I tasted the love of the One who is everywhere. Naanak jaa kai bhaavnee neekee: Nanak says lovely is the heart that trusts like this. Bhaavnee means the heart's leaning, a warm trust. Think of a sunflower. It doesn't argue about the sun. It just turns toward it.
Where is a surprising place you have noticed something beautiful hiding?
