Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I am wonderstruck — amazed, amazed, full of wonder.

Saying the Naam, millions of wrongs are taken away.

I bow at the Guru's feet and touch my forehead to them.

O One, You alone are — only You.

Your devotees lean on You for support.

Servant Nanak says: I have come to the door of Your shelter.

Wonder is the doorway — it is the feeling in which the One shows itself.
The deeper layer

Wonder fills you, the Naam lifts every weight, and you see that only the One is here.

Bisam bismai bisam bha-ee: wonderstruck, amazed, full of wonder. This awe is the wah in Waheguru, the word of wonder. Ayk toohee ayk tuhee: You alone, You alone, with no second anywhere. Saran du-aaray: at the door of shelter, where the shabad comes to rest.

A Question to Sit With

When was the last time something filled you with pure wonder?
