Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Rain down, happy rain, as You will.

Bring me every joy and every good fortune.

Sometimes the bravest prayer is simply: rain on me, I am ready.
The deeper layer

You can ask for grace to rain down on you and fill you with joy.

This is the rahaa-o, the pause line, the center of the shabad. Baras saras aagi-aa: rain down with joy, within the aagi-aa, the flow of existence. The heart asks to be rained on by grace. The whole prayer asks for the monsoon of the Naam, the very weather this raag longs for.

A Question to Sit With

What is something good you are ready and hoping to receive?
