Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

All that exists asks of You; You are kind to every living being.

I have come to Your shelter. Keep my honor, O Lord of the World, and bless me with Truth.

Asking honestly is how every living thing is fed.
The deeper layer

Every living thing asks the One for what it needs, and the One is kind to all.

All creation asks (jaachai), and the One's da-i-aa, mercy, leaves no one out. Saran is shelter, refuge. Pat raakho, keep my honor, asks for dignity kept. The gift asked for is saach, Truth.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you find hard to ask for, even when you need it?
