O Dear Lord, please be kind and lead me to meet the Guru, that I may find the Door of Salvation. ||7||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The Naam of the One is my anchor. The Naam, Har, Har, is the support I lean on.
Dear One, be kind and lead me to the Guru, so I may find the door to freedom.
An anchor holds you steady precisely when the water gets rough.
The Naam is the anchor that holds you steady, and grace leads you to the Guru.
Tayk is a prop, something you lean your whole weight on. Adhaar is support. Kirpaa karahu — please be kind. The prayer asks for grace, a kindness freely given, to meet the Guru and find mokh duaar, the door of freedom.
A Question to Sit With
What holds you steady when everything around you feels shaky?
