Until the mind is calmed, loving devotion does not come.
When the mind gains wisdom, the lotus of the heart opens.
And the Naam of the One comes to live in that heart.
Love for the One grows inside you once the mind is calm; repeating someone else's words is only the start.
Kahi kahi kahan kahai sabh ko-ay: everyone passes along what others have said. It is like forwarding a message you never read. But love for the One, bhagat, comes only when the restless mind grows calm.
Then something opens. Gi-aan matee kamal pargaas: when the mind gains wisdom, the lotus opens. The lotus is the heart. It opens slowly, like a flower in the morning sun. And the Name comes to live in that open heart.
