Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Dear One, I give my whole self to You.
I offer my body and my mind and set them before You. I will stay in Your shelter forever.
Give your whole self, body and mind, to the One, and stay in that shelter forever.
This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad.
Har jee-o tuDh vitahu bal jaa-ee means, dear One, I give my whole self to You. It is an old way of saying "all my love is Yours."
Tan man arpee tuDh aagai raakha-o means I offer my body and mind and place them before You. Tan is body and man is mind. This means holding nothing back. Think of a kid emptying all their pockets onto the table for someone they love: every shell, every coin.
Sadaa rahaaN sarnaa-ee means I will always stay in Your shelter. Giving yourself fully is not losing yourself. It is finding a safe place to be.
What would it feel like to hold nothing back from something you love?
