By great good fortune, the Society of the Saints is found. Through the Guru, the True Guru, I receive the Touch of the Lord God. ||3||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One, Har, Har, lives in the Sangat. Joining the Sangat, we come to know the One's goodness.
By great good fortune, I found the Sangat. Through the Guru, the True Guru, I am touched by the Lord.
The company you keep can change what you become.
The One lives where the Sangat gathers, and finding it is great good fortune.
Satsangat, the Sangat, is where the One abides. Paras means touch, and it also names the touchstone, the legendary stone that turns iron to gold: touching the Guru changes you. Finding such company is vadai bhaag, great good fortune, a gift of grace.
