For those turned away from the One, days and nights are dark. They are caught in the net of clinging to Maya, the pull of things.
Not even for a moment does the Lord live in their heart. Every hair on their head is tied up in debts of every kind.
When the One has no place in the heart, days and nights feel dark and heavy.
saakat ka-o din rain anDhaaree — for the saakat, someone turned away from the One, days and nights feel dark. mohi faathay maa-i-aa jaal — they are caught in Maya's net of wanting things.
khin pal har parabh ridai na vasi-o — the One does not live in their heart even for a moment. rin baaDhay baho biDh baal — every hair on their head is tied up in debts.
This can be true of any of us when we forget. It is not about some group of bad people. Think of borrowing from friends again and again, until you owe everyone something. You feel heavy all the time. One turn back toward the One begins to loosen those knots.
When you feel tangled up or heavy, what is one small thing that helps you turn back toward the light?
