Enemies and pain shall not even approach you; only a rare few realize the Wisdom of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

O Baba, keep the True One in your mind, and speak the True One with your mouth. Becoming true, you are carried across.

Enemies and pain do not come near you. Only a rare few find this wisdom of the One.

When heart and words both live in the True One, trouble loses its grip.
The deeper layer

Keep the True One in your mind and on your lips, and you are carried across.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the song. Baabaa means "dear friend" or "wise one." Man saachaa mukh saachaa means "the True One in your mind, the True One in your mouth." What you think and what you say should match.

Think of a team jersey. It means something when you play for that team. Taree-ai saachaa ho-ee means "by becoming true, you are carried across," like a boat over rough water.

Dusman dookh na aavai nayrhai means "enemies and pain do not come near." Trouble loses its grip on someone rooted in truth. Har mat paavai ko-ee means "only a rare few find this wisdom." Few slow down enough to receive it.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like when what you say matches what you believe inside?
