Servant Nanak has come to the Sanctuary of God. ||4||5||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Be kind to me, Supreme Lord and Master, You who know what is inside every heart.

All day and night, I stay tuned to You in love.

Nanak says: I, Your servant, have come to Your shelter.

You are already fully known on the inside — and still welcomed.
The deeper layer

The One knows every heart from the inside, and you can rest in the One's shelter.

"Antarjaamee" (the inner-knower, searcher of hearts) carries intimacy: nothing about you is hidden or unloved. "Liv laa-ay" (attuned) returns. The shabad ends in "sarnaa-ay," the sanctuary, the resting place.

A Question to Sit With

How does it feel to imagine being completely known, and still completely accepted?
