In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

Being torn in two ways has made my mind go wild.

Chasing false things out of greed, I have let my life slip away.

This split clings to me, and I cannot hold it back.

The True Guru saves me, and plants the Naam deep inside me.

When the mind stops splitting itself in two, it can finally rest.
The deeper layer

A mind torn in two runs wild, and the Guru steadies it by planting the Naam within.

DubiDhaa, two-mindedness, is called ba-uree, a restless madness of the mind. Jhoothai laalach is false, empty greed that wastes the days. The turn comes with satgur raakhay naam drirh-aa-i-aa: the True Guru saves, planting the Naam firmly within. The split mind is exhausting, and remembering the One lets it rest.

A Question to Sit With

When have you felt pulled in two directions at once, and what helped you settle?
