In the one who faces the Guru, a quiet music of ease rises up, and the pain of ego leaves from within.
The Naam of the One comes to live in the mind, and easily, without forcing, that person sings the praises of the One.
When the "me first" ache leaves, a quiet music of calm rises up by itself.
Gurmukh sahj Dhun oopjai means "in the one who faces the Guru, the music of ease rises up." Sahj means natural ease. Dhun means a tune or a hum.
Dukh ha-umai vichahu jaa-ay means "the pain of ha-umai leaves from within." Ha-umai is the "I, me, mine" feeling of being separate, and it hurts.
Then har naamaa har man vasai: "the One's Naam lives in the mind." And sehjay har gun gaa-ay: "easily, one sings the One's praises." Sehjay means without forcing.
Think of humming while you draw, without even noticing you started. You don't make this music happen. It rises on its own.
When have you felt a quiet, easy calm rise up in you without forcing it?
