Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My One is the Inner-Knower, who sees inside every heart.

The One alone is my support, the One alone my shelter. My great Master stands above the heads of kings.

There is One who knows you from the inside and holds you up.
The deeper layer

One knows you from the inside, and that One alone holds you up, above every king.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad, and every other verse leans on it.

Ayk hamaaraa antarjaamee means my One is the antarjaamee, the Inner-Knower. That is the One who sees what is inside your heart. You never have to explain yourself to the One. It is like a mom who knows you are sad before you say a word.

Tik aykas kee means my only support is the One. And the One is sir saahaa, above the heads of kings. That means bigger than any king, and bigger than any fear.

Everything else in this shabad holds on to this one anchor.

A Question to Sit With

Who knows you best, on the inside?
