In plain words

The One's place is the highest of the high.

The One's humble people rest their attention there with easy calm.

I long to be the dust under the feet of the One's humblest servants.

My Beloved is overflowing with every kind of power.

Ask to be the dust under the humblest feet, and you are lifted highest.
The deeper layer

The deepest humility feels like an honor: being glad to serve those who serve.

Oochay tay oochaa parabh thaan means the One's place is the highest of the high. Har jan laaveh sahj Dhi-aan means those who love the One rest their attention there with sahj, natural ease. It is not a strain for them.

Then Guru Arjan says, daas daasan kee baaNchha-o Dhoor. I long for the dust of the servants of the servants. This means: I do not want to be above anyone. It is the deepest humility, and here it is a proud honor, not putting yourself down. Think of a great player who happily carries the water bottles for the team.

And the Beloved is sarab kalaa pareetam bharpoor, full of every kind of power.

A Question to Sit With

What would change if you stopped needing to be above anyone?
