Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Kabir says: my wrongs have worn away to nothing.
My mind has melted into the One, the Life of the World.
When old wrongs wear away, the mind melts into the One who is the life of the whole world.
This last verse is where the whole song has been heading.
Kahat kabeer kilbikh ga-ay kheenaa means Kabir says, my wrongs have worn away to nothing. Kilbikh means mistakes and wrongdoings.
This is less about a punishment being cancelled. It is more about a heavy feeling melting away: the feeling of being a separate self, always on guard. When that feeling goes, the weight it carried goes too. Think of putting down a backpack full of rocks you did not know you were carrying.
Man bha-i-aa jagjeevan leenaa means my mind has melted into the jagjeevan, the life of the whole world. The idea of being cut off from everything melts back into the one life, which was never split apart.
What weighs on you that you would love to set down for good?
