Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You made all these women and men. All of them are Your forms.

Kabir says: I am the child of Raam and Allah. All the Gurus and prophets are mine.

Every person is a shape of the One, and every wise teacher belongs to all of us.
The deeper layer

Every woman and man is a form of the One, and the holy teachers of every tradition belong to everyone.

The shabad turns from questioning to embrace. Every man and woman is a roop, a form, of the One who fashioned them — so no person stands outside the family. Kabir calls himself the child of Raam and Allah and claims all the gurus and prophets as his own. This is his radical inclusivity in a single breath: the holy teachers of every tradition belong to everyone, because the One they point toward belongs to no single tradition.

A Question to Sit With

Who is a teacher from any tradition whose kindness feels like it belongs to you?
