Lit Up Within, No More Sorrow

jaa kai antar pargati-o aap.
One who is illuminated by the Lord's radiance within,
taa ka-o naahee dookh santaap.
is not touched by pain and sorrow.

He holds in his robe the gems and jewels.
sagal kutamb oh jan lai tari-aa. ||3||
That humble being is saved, along with all his generations. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The one in whom the One shines inside

is not touched by pain and sorrow.

That person holds rubies and jewels in their lap.

That humble one crosses over, and carries the whole family along.

Your inner light can lift up everyone around you.
The deeper layer

Jaa kai antar pargati-o aap — the One's radiance dawns within, so naahee dookh santaap — pain and sorrow lose their hold. Laal ratan tis paalai pari-aa — jewels held in the lap; and sagal kutamb oh jan lai tari-aa — the whole family is lifted along. Goodness is contagious.

A Question to Sit With

How does one person's calm or kindness spread to a whole family?
