In plain words

The One has struck down the five tigers that used to prowl inside me — anger, greed, and their friends.

The One has driven off the ten wolves that dragged my senses this way and that.

The three whirlpools that used to spin me around have stopped.

In the Sangat, my fear of going round and round through birth after birth is gone.

The storms inside you can grow quiet.
The deeper layer

Numbers map the inner life: the panch (five) are the classic troublemakers of the mind (anger, greed, attachment, pride, and craving); the das (ten) are the senses when they run wild; the teen aavrat are the three pulls of the world that spin a person in circles. In the Sangat (saadh sang), people gathered together to remember the One, they all lose their grip.

A Question to Sit With

Which of your own inner storms would you most like to see settle down?
