Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Remembering, remembering the Lord of the world, I live.

In kindness the One keeps safe its servant; the True One forgives, always and forever.

Remembering the One is what makes you come alive.
The deeper layer

I live by remembering: simar simar jeevaa. Remembrance is the source of aliveness itself. Saachaa bakhsind is the True One who forgives, again and again, without limit.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that makes you feel fully alive?
