A Whole Mountain Turned to Straw

daajh ga-ay tarin paap sumayr.
The mountain of sin is burnt down, like straw,
jap jap naam poojay parabh pair.
by chanting and meditating on the Name, and worshipping God's feet.
anad roop pargati-o sabh thaan.
God, the embodiment of bliss, becomes manifest everywhere.
paraym bhagat joree sukh maan. ||2||
Linked to His loving devotional worship, I enjoy peace. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

A whole mountain of wrongs burns away like dry straw

when I repeat the Name again and again and bow at the One's feet.

The One, who is pure joy, shows up everywhere I look.

Joined to a loving practice from the heart, I feel deep peace.

No pile of mistakes is too big to be lifted.
The deeper layer

Paap sumayr is a mountain of wrongs; trin is straw. However huge the pile seems, it is light before the Name. Anad roop — the One as the very shape of bliss — is then seen sabh thaan, in every place at once.

A Question to Sit With

When you finally let go of a mistake you'd been carrying, how did it feel?
